Installing and Removing FMs
1. LocatetheemptyFM1slotandpositionthemoduleintheguiderailattheleftoftheslot,as
showninFigure 3‐22.Gentlyinsertthemoduleuntilitengageswiththeconnectorsonthe
backplane,makingsuretheejectorhandlesareopen,asshowninFigure 3‐19.

2. Pushtheejectorhandlestowardthecenterofthemodule,asshownearlierinFigure 3‐19,
engagingthelipoftheslot,untilthemodulelocksintoplaceandisflushwithadjoining
coverplates.
3. Tightenthetwocaptivescrews.
4. Aftercompletingallmoduleinstallation,besurethatyouleavenoslots
uncovered.Failureto
sealanyemptyslotswiththeprovidedcoverplatesmayhamperpowercoolingofthechassis
anditscomponents.
5. Toremoveaninstall edCMorFM,firstdisconnectanycablingandperformtheinstallation
stepsinreverse.
