Problems and Solutions
Problem Possible cause Solution
The camera
does not
turn on.
The batteries
are functioning
incorrectly, are
dead, are
installed
incorrectly, or
are missing.
z The charge in the batteries could
be low or completely drained.
Try installing new or recharged
batteries.
z Ensure that the batteries are
inserted correctly (page 16).
z Do not use ordinary alkaline
batteries. For best results, use
photo-lithium batteries or
rechargeable NiMH batteries. If
you must use alkaline batteries,
use high-grade “ultra” or
“premium” varieties.
If you are using
the HP AC
power adapter,
it is not
connected to
the camera, or
is not plugged
into a power
outlet.
Ensure that the HP AC power
adapter is connected to the
camera and is plugged into a
working electrical outlet.
The HP AC
power adapter
is not
functioning
correctly.
Ensure that the HP AC power
adapter is not damaged or
defective and is plugged into a
working electrical outlet.
The camera
has stopped
operating.
Reset the camera by removing the
batteries and then re-inserting
them (page 93).
