where it may not function properly. Refer to the information in this
chapter to help you resolve the situation before calling Technical
Support.
This chapter provides:
A description of the indicator lights and error codes
Clearing a document jam
A problem solving chart
Scan Station error messages
Indicator lights and
error codes
The LED indicator light and number in the Display window on the Scan
Station provide information on the current state of the Scan Station. In
Normal operation, “1” will be displayed in the Display window with either
a steady or flashing green LED.
Flashing green — Normal operation: indicates the Scan Station is
initializing from powering on or warming up from a power saving mode
and preparing to scan.
Steady green — Normal operation: indicates the Scan Station is
ready to scan.
Flashing or steady red: indicates a Scan Station error, such as the
Scan Station cover is open. A momentary red flash during the scan
process is an indication that data is being sent from the Scan Station.
Display window — the Display window on the Scan Station provides
information on the status of the Scan Station.
If “0” is displayed, this can indicate that the Scan Station is plugged in
and the main power switch is turned on, but the main computer within
the Scan Station is off. This occurs when the green “soft” button has
been pressed. In this state, the Scan Station is in shutdown mode and
you need to press the green button to power up the Scan Station. When
the Scan Station is ready, “1” will be displayed in the Display window
and the green LED will flash while the Scan Station is warming up.
When the Scan Station is ready, the green LED will be steady.
