Hard Drive Test Error Codes
The 1700 series of Diagnostic error codes identifies failures with hard drives, hard drive
controller boards, hard drive cabling, and system board functions. If your system uses a drive

1. Run the System Configuration Utility and verify
the drive type.
2. Replace the fixed disk drive signal and power
cables and retest.
