Overview
Chapter 7 File Operation
clips on that disc. (The only possible operations are
playback and disc formatting.)
- Writing of clips with user-defined names
- Deletion of clips (except the last recorded clip)
- Locking of clips
If you attempt to write a C*.MXF file which does not
meet the conditions specified in remark c) to this table
via a FAM connection, a Windows error message
appears to the effect that the file or directory is corrupt
and cannot be read.
1) PDW-F350/F330, PDW-530/510, PDW-F70/F30, PDW-1500, PDW-R1,
PDW-V1, PDW-D1, and PDW-70MD.
Edit directory
a) The “E*” part can be changed to a user-defined name.
b) Only files which can be written by XDCAM. Partial writing is not
possible.
c) Only files which can be written by XDCAM
d) Only when the Write Inhibit tab on the disc is set to enable recording.
e) When the “E*” part of a *E01.SMI is changed, an E*M01.XML file with
the same name in the “E*” part is also changed automatically.
f) When an E*E01.SMI file is created, an E*M01.XML file with the same
name in the “E*” part is also generated automatically.
g) When an E*E01.SMI file is deleted, an E*M01.XML file with the same
name in the “E*” part is also deleted automatically.
Directories cannot be created in the Edit directory.
Sub directory
a) The “C*” part can be changed to a user definded name.
b) When the “C*” part of a C*.MXF file name is changed, a C*S01. MXF
file with the same name in the “C*” part is generated automatically.
c) When a C*.MXF file is created, a C*S01.XML file with the same name in
the “C*” part is generated automatically.
d) When a C*.MXF file is deleted, the C*S01.XML file with the same name
in the “C*” part is also deleted automatically.
Directories cannot be created in the Sub directory.
General directory
a) UTF-8 file names can be up to 63 bytes in length. (Depending on the
character type, file names (including extension) may be limited to 21
characters.)
b) Only when the Write Inhibit tab on the disc is set to enable recording.

General directory.
