ADDING A VOICE MEMO
In the still image shooting mode, you can record approximately 4 seconds of sound (called a
voice memo) when capturing the image. You can also add a voice memo to an image previously
recorded (see ADDING A VOICE MEMO (ADD AUDIO FUNCTION) on page 109).
1
Display the Still Image Shooting Setting Screen (see
page 31).
2
Select the add voice memo icon a from the voice
memo menu, and press the SET button.
a: For adding a voice memo.
b: For not adding a voice memo.
œ This completes the voice memo setting.
œ The voice memo setting returns to off when the main
switch is set to MONITOR OFF or Ô, or the digital
camera is turned off.
œ To exit the Shooting Setting Screen, press the MODE
button. When the Shooting Setting Screen disappears,
the voice memo icon a appears in the upper right area
of the LCD monitor.
3
Press the shutter release button to capture the image
and then talk into the microphone.
œ About 4 seconds of sound are recorded.
œ During the recording, K appears in the upper right
area of the LCD monitor.
œ When the voice memo is finished, the setting returns to
the no voice memo setting.
œ The voice memo can be played back in the still image
playback mode (see page 98).
When you have finished capturing images, turn off the digital camera.
NOTE
œ When the compression ratio is set to L, it takes approximately 30 seconds for the image data
to be recorded (when using the supplied 16MB CompactFlash card). The voice memo will start
after this. When the recording for the voice memo begins, K will appear in the upper right
area of the LCD monitor.
œ The voice memo function cannot be used in the sequential shot shooting mode.
œ In the video clip mode, the sound is recorded automatically.
œ Each voice memo uses one-half the memory of an image captured at a resolution of 4 and
compression rate of G.
