Check the exposure.
When you press the shutter button
halfway, the exposure level mark [N] will
show how far the current exposure level
is from the standard exposure level.

Set the exposure and take the
picture.
Set the exposure while checking the
exposure level and image brightness,
then take the picture.
If the exposure level exceeds ±3 stops,
the [h/g] will light up at [-3] or [+3] on the
exposure level scale.

If ISO Auto is set, the ISO speed setting will change to suit the shutter speed and
aperture in order to obtain a standard exposure. Therefore, you may not obtain
the desired exposure effect.
In [A3: Auto Lighting Optimizer], if the checkmark [X] for [Disable during
man expo] is removed, the Auto Lighting Optimizer can be set in the <a>
mode (p.153).
When ISO Auto is set, you can press the <A> button to lock the ISO speed.
If you press the <A> button and recompose the shot, you can see the
exposure level difference on the exposure level indicator (p.25) compared to
when the <A> button was pressed.
