If the image comes out dark or the contrast is low, the brightness and contrast
can be corrected automatically. This function is called Auto Lighting
Optimizer. The default setting is [Standard]. With JPEG images, the
correction is applied when the image is captured. RAW images can be
corrected with Digital Photo Professional (EOS software, p.350).
With <A> and in Basic Zone modes, [Standard] is set.

Display the Quick Control screen.
Press the <Q> button to display it.

Tap the Auto Lighting Optimizer.

Tap the desired setting to select it.
Tap the desired setting to select it, then
tap [2].

Take the picture.
The image will be recorded with the
brightness and contrast corrected if
necessary.
