5. Installation in a corrosive environment (for example, near a coastline)
The fasteners and fixtures shipped with the camera help to keep the camera secure. Always
use Bosch-supplied screws and other fasteners when installing or performing maintenance on
the camera.
Before installation, inspect the metal parts of the camera for paint that is chipped or
otherwise damaged. If you notice any paint damage, touch up the damage with locally
available paint or sealants.
Avoid installation practices that may bring the camera’s metal mountings in contact with
materials such as stainless steel. Such contacts can result in galvanic corrosion and degrade
the cosmetic appearance of the camera. These cosmetic damages caused by improper
installation are not covered by warranty as they do not affect the functionality of the camera.
6. Outdoor installation
Use proper surge suppression on your network video, power, audio, and alarm cables.
7. SD card
This information is provided to assist the customer in the selection of an appropriate SD
device as a means for recording video. It is not an endorsement of a specific technology or
supplier.
AUTODOME 7000 Series cameras can record video and audio to user-supplied local memory
cards (SD, SDHC, or SDXC, hereafter referred to as “SD cards”). Bosch has identified best
practices with respect to the selection and use of SD cards in the products.
1. Select an SD card with a read/write speed of at least 10MB/second and class 6.
2. Ensure that write protection is off. (Check the slider if applicable.)
3. Switch off power to the unit before inserting the SD card.
4. Stop recording and switch off power to the unit before removing the SD card.
Bosch recommends that you frequently check the recording status of your equipment.
Periodic replacement of the SD card may be required. It is recommended that redundant
recording systems are considered and that information is always backed up. As with all
storage media, the “lifetime” of an SD card varies by supplier and use conditions. The lifetime
of a SD card is normally dependent on the number of read/write activities.
Bosch provides this guidance as a service to our customers with no representation of
warranty, either expressed or implied, associated with the use of SD cards for recording.
Bosch is not liable for any damage that results from missing video information. Bosch does not
make any commitments or promises regarding quality, performance, or other features with
respect to third party products (such as SD cards).
BVIP Firmware Updates
The AUTODOME 7000 Series incorporate a network video server in the IP module. The primary
function of the server is to encode video and control data for transmission over a TCP/IP
network. The camera also allows an operator to update the BVIP firmware via the TCP/IP
network.
The latest BVIP firmware is available on the Bosch Security Systems Web site. To download
the service pack from the Web, navigate to www.boschsecurity.us, click the CCTV link, then
click Cameras, PTZ and navigate to the appropriate product page for your AUTODOME 7000
Series camera. Then click the Software tab on the product page.
Upgrading the AutoDome 800 Series
The preferred method to update an AUTODOME HD camera is through a direct connection
between the camera and a PC. This method entails connecting the Ethernet cable from the
camera directly to the Ethernet port of a PC.
