Configuring VPN Certificates
Implementing Certificates for VPN Policies
To implement the use of certificates for VPN policies, you must locate a source for a valid CA
certificate from a third party CA service. Once you have a valid CA certificate, you can import it into
the SonicWALL security appliance to validate your Local Certificates. You import the valid CA
certificate into the SonicWALL security appliance using the VPN>CA Certificates page.
Once you import the valid CA certificate, you can use it to validate your local certificates you add in
the VPN>Local Certificates page.
Importing CA Certificates into the SonicWALL Security
Appliance
After your CA service has validated your CA Certificate, you can import it into the SonicWALL
security appliance and use it to validate Local Certificates for VPN Security Associations.
Import your CA Certificate into the SonicWALL security appliance, follow these steps:

Select Add New CA Certificate from the Certificates menu.

Click Browse, then locate the PKCS#7 (*.p7b) or DER (*.der) or *.cer encoded file sent by the CA
service. Click Open to set the directory path to the certificate.
