Digital Still Camera Mode : Advanced Techniques

+ The ISO Sensitivityfunction works in O (Program),M, S and A modes.
+ Sensitivity isa measureof how rapidlythe camera reactsto a light source.
The higher the sensitivity,the brighterthe image is underthe sameexposure condition.
+ Allowing the flash to fire will help brightenthe image. However, if other settings disablethe flash use,
set the ISO sensitivity to ahigher level.
1. Set the Power switch to O (CAMERA).
2. Set the Mode Dialto O (Program), M,S orA.
3. Pressthe Quick menu selector.
The ISOicon will be displayed.
4. Movethe Joystick up or downto select ISO Setting.
The adjustable ISOcontrol barappears.
5. Move the Joystick to the leftor rightto set the desired ISO mode.
The availableoptions are:
AUTO Automatically sets the ISO to compensate for various lighting conditions
(upto400)
50 This mode is recommended for bright lighting conditions.
This mode is recommended for most situations except when lighting is
100
poor or when higher shutter speeds are required.
200 The image may be grainy when set to this mode or higher.
The image may be grainy,
400
Sharpening may raise the noise level.
6. When you are satisfied,press the Quick menu selector.
The selected ISO Sensitivity levelwill be displayed.

Higher ISOsensitivity might produce agrainy (noisy)effect on the image.
AUTO ISO modewill allow you to take quality pictures in most lightingconditions.
